Honfleur, watchdog of the Seine

Honfleur escaped the bombings of the 2nd worldwar and thanks to that the village looks still as a real port city from the 17th century. The old "bassin" with next to it historical buildings of the former mayors' residence. It still looks like a painting, certainly in this period of the year with no tourists. The view on the village is beautiful entering from the Pont de l'Atlantique, but don't look to the other side as the view will be "destroyed" by the giant oil tanks of Le Havre port.
Finding the hotel is quite difficult, when following the corniche towards Deauville, but at the end we found it covered by the trees in the garden. I will be back here in May as the view of the apple blossoms during that period is overwhelming.

Etretat or not Etretat

Arriving via the route nationale in the village of Etretat is always a bit like coming home, but this day it's even with more pleasure that I'm driving down the road. In full sunshine the sea is sparkling and vibrating and it looks as if the water is searching for a way inland.
I had some difficulties earlier on with the carburettor, but managed to clean it at the road side.
Although temperature is quite warm, the open fire feels good when entering the guest house and a good malt is always appreciated to wind down.
Dinner looks perfect with fresh scallops followed by Normandy tripes;
Cheers, tomorrow is another day.
